Boost your immunity with yoga poses
It’s time for a change.
Time to change your yoga practice to meet the new season: Cold and Flu season.
Cold weather isn’t just hard on skin and hair— it also compromises your immune system. Yoga is an excellent way to help boost your immunity so that you can minimize cold and flu symptoms, or possibly avoid them altogether. Yoga benefits the immune system by:
- Improving circulation
- Increasing lung mobility
- Massaging and rejuvenating internal organs
- Relaxing the nervous system and boosting immune response
- Improving the flow of the sinuses and flushing out mucous from the lungs
Stay strong by incorporating more of these poses into your practice during cold and flu season:

Cobra Pose
- Chest-openers (like cobra, boat and camel) to improve circulation
- Twisting poses (like triangle, side angle, prayer twist and seated twist) to massage and improve function of the kidneys, spleen and lymph nodes
- Relaxation poses (savasana, legs-up-the-wall) to reduce the stress that makes you more vulnerable to viruses.
