According to traditional Indian medicine, chakras are energy centers in the body which  have bearing on a person’s physical and spiritual well-being. Seven major chakras are located along the entire length of the spine, and each is associated with specific regions of the body.  Spiritual gurus advocate wearing colored gemstones as a way to restore balance to the chakras.

• Seventh Chakra: Sahasrara or Crown Chakra. This Chakra is associated with the top of the head, the brain, and the entire nervous system. Its color is white or violet.
• Sixth Chakra: Ajna or Brow Chakra. This chakra is located in the center of the forehead and is represented by the color indigo.
• Fifth Chakra: Vishuddha or Throat. Located at the base of the throat. Color is turquoise.
• Fourth Chakra: Anahata or Heart. The fourth chakra is located in the center of the chest and is emerald green.
• Third Chakra: Manipura or Solar Plexus. The third chakra emanates from the solar plexus and it represented by the color yellow.
• Second Chakra: Svadisthana or The Sacral Chakra is located in the abdomen. Its color is orange.
• First Chakra: Base or Root Chakra. Located in the perineum, the root chakra’s color is red
